The PaperSeed Foundation
The PaperSeed Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening educational opportunities for children and young people in underserved and resource-lacking communities around the world. PaperSeed seeks to create lasting impact, well after the organization has ceased to be directly involved, by granting seed money to community-based organizations with leaders who have demonstrated an ability to run sustainable, long-lasting initiatives.
Project details: Unlike their urban counterparts, students in rural China face barriers to education such as lack of facilities, books, and equipment. Together with the PaperSeed Foundation, we are working to bridge these gaps and help all students access good quality education. Over the past five years, we have made a contribution to PaperSeed on behalf of every conference attendee at our annual Pulp & Paper Symposium in Shanghai. We also provided a platform and additional support at our symposium in Shanghai (March 2018), which resulted in donations of $15,000.
Through the support of Hawkins Wright and our generous clients, PaperSeed has been able to increase their outreach. To date, our partnership has directly helped over 1,400 children and young people.
