Liam Halligan is an economist, author and broadcaster – who also has extensive business experience. He is best known for his long-standing weekly ‘Economics Agenda’ column in The Sunday Telegraph - which enjoys a large international following and has been recognized with a highly-coveted British Press Award.

Liam is the co-author of ‘Clean Brexit – How to Make a Success of Leaving the European Union’ (Biteback, 2017) – a book described by The Times as ‘highly-influential’.

Along with his Telegraph role, Liam features three times a week on CNN-Talk – analyzing global political and economic news for an international television audience – while writing regularly for The Spectator and The Sun.

Liam has been Political Correspondent for The Financial Times (based in Parliament), written for The Economist from Moscow and, between 1999 and 2006 was Economics Correspondent at Channel 4 News – where he won a string of awards, including the Wincott Business Broadcasting award an unprecedented four times. He continues to research, write and present hard-hitting Dispatchesdocumentaries for Channel 4 television, while regularly appearing on flagship BBC programmes including Question Time, Any Questionsand Today.

Liam is also Editor-at-Large and columnist at Business New Europe – www.intellinews – a leading source of English-language business, economics and political news analysis covering 30 countries in Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe and the Former Soviet Union.

Between 2007 and 2013, he was Chief Economist at Prosperity Capital Management, the world's largest Russia/CIS-focused asset manager, controlling investments worth over $4bn for a range of institutional clients from Europe, the US and the Middle East.

Liam holds a First Class degree (Econ) from Warwick University and an M.Phil (Econ) from St Antony's College, Oxford. He sits on the Advisory Board of the Social Market Foundation and The Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy, an ESRC-funded research body based in the University of Warwick's Economics Department.

Markus Mannström has been Executive Vice President of the Stora Enso Biomaterials division since June 2017. He was previously Stora Enso’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and he has been a member of the Group Leadership Team since 2015. Markus has worked at Stora Enso since 2001 and has worked on several large investment and R&D projects, including as General Manager of Stora Enso’s Guangxi project in China. He has an MSc degree in Paper Technology and is based in Stockholm.

Nina Elmersson has been employed since 2005 with focus on various areas within Ekman group such as derivatives, business intelligence, market analysis, business development and strategy. Today Nina is responsible for Ekman´s strategy and various projects, all focusing on creating additional value for business partners and enhancing the group´s performance.

Together with the industry she works to identify, create and implement ideas that promote specific products and markets. The latest initiative for creating additional value is the project “Challenge the fabric”. This project is the first step in a strategy to create and raise awareness about viscose.

She has a Master of Business Administration with finance focus from Linneaus University in Sweden.

With almost three decades’ experience in the packaging design industry, Paul Foulkes-Arellano became Head of Client Programmes at Precipice Design, London, in 2016. Paul has worked in markets across the world, enjoying spells in Central America and Europe. A keen linguist, he is fluent in French and Spanish.

After studying modern languages at Cambridge, Paul began his career in the late eighties. His first post was at PI Global where he spent several years touring Europe. The nineties saw Paul up sticks and move to Mexico. In 1998, he returned to London and enjoyed stints at Design Bridge, Wren & Rowe and Seymourpowell. Paul has worked extensively with global beers and spirit brands as well as food giants Mondelez and Nestlé.

Paul is determined to do something about the devastating effects of plastic pollution, and in 2017 joined forces with international campaign group A Plastic Planet. The London-based group is campaigning for a Plastic Free Aisle in supermarkets. Paul is on a mission to identify Petrochem-free alternatives to plastic packaging within two years, and is passionate about finding positive solutions to the profound challenges posed by plastic pollution.

Marco Eikelenboom is Vice-President of Marketing & Sales Graphics at Sappi Europe since 2008. His professional career started in 1992 with KNP Fine Paper in The Netherlands and after several commercial positions in Maastricht and Paris, he was appointed Manager Corporate Planning when KNP Leykam was acquired by Sappi Ltd. in 1997.
Following this corporate strategy position, Marco took on the role as Managing Director of Sappi Benelux and left in 2002 to Sappi’s Head Office in Johannesburg to become Marketing Director. Marco came back to Brussels as Director Marketing & Sales in 2005 and after the acquisition and integration of M-Real Graphics, he assumed the global Marketing & Sales responsibilities for the Graphics business of Sappi Europe.
Marco holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and followed executive management courses at INSEAD, IMD and MIT Sloane School of Management. He lives with his wife, 2 of their 3 sons and 2 dogs in Brussels.

Tom is the Managing Director of Hawkins Wright. He undertakes regular private client consultancy assignments on a wide range of topics related to the pulp and paper sector. He is the co-author of the Outlook for Market Pulp and makes regular contributions to Pulpwatch. He is the principal author of the Asian multi-client studies. Defining the China Market for Pulp Paper & Board enjoys industry-wide recognition and is now in its eighth year of publication.

Tom travels widely, both in the course of market research and also as a frequent speaker to private meetings and industry conferences.
