Roger Wright, Managing Director

Roger founded Hawkins Wright in 1982 following a career in the paper industry and latterly in management consultancy and market research. He has built Hawkins Wright into one of the world’s leading authorities on the pulp and paper industry and market. He continues to contribute to the Outlook for Market Pulp service which he started twenty-five years ago. He travels widely and is involved in all private consultancy assignments undertaken by the company. Over the past thirty years Roger has lead over 1000 research and consultancy assignments in over 50 countries. He has made contributions to many industry publications and frequently addresses audiences at international conferences.

John Bingham, Research Director

John joined Hawkins Wright in 1994 to launch Pulpwatch, the monthly market pulp industry newsletter, of which he remains editor. He also contributes to many of Hawkins Wright’s other reports and services, including: The Outlook for Market Pulp, and Defining the China Market for Pulp, Paper and Board, an analysis – now in its fourth edition – of the development potential of the Chinese pulp and paper industry. He was the principal author of Hawkins Wright’s multi-client study on price risk management in the pulp and paper industry (published in 2002).  Consultancy assignments recently undertaken include market feasibility studies of pulp mill projects in Brazil, Chile and Scotland; an investment appraisal for private equity house; an appraisal of the UK’s export market for recovered paper; and the market outlook facing a coated woodfree paper producer in East Asia.
